||Youtube project: Direct
||Hi. My name's Darren Aronofsky
and I'm the director of a new film
||called "The Wrestler", starring Mickey Rourke,
that comes out December 19th.
||My first film "Pi" won the directing award
at the Sundance film festival in 1998.
||Being at Sundance was a great experience
and that's why I'm excited to announce
||the return of Youtube short film competition.
2009 marks the 25th anniversary
||of the Sundance film festival, and 25 years
of celebrating original story telling.
||So this year, AOL moviefone,
Sundance film festival and Youtube
||have partnered to bring you a unique
challenge: create your own short film,
||no more than 5 minutes long,
incorporating 3 specific props.
||Choose 2 props from classic Sundance
||and a red telephone.
||The Sundance film festival
will choose 10 finalists
||and the Youtube community
will vote for a final winner.
||If that's you, you and a guest will
be thrown to the 2009 Sundance film festival
||in Park City, Utah, this January
where you'll get a chance to screen your film
||for an audience, and to meet
with the festival's director of programming.
||And the winning film, plus 2 runner ups,
will be distributed on DVD
||to industry executives at the festival.
Remember not to show any brand names or logos
||in your films. We just need to see your 3 props
and your story.
||You have until December to submit your film
||Good luck, and I hope to see you at the movies
on December 19th for the Wrestler.
